About 40 FT containers

The 40 FT container is the workhorse of bulk storage. Externally forty feet by eight feet, with standard height units at eight feet six inches and high cubes at nine feet six, it offers close to double the floor area of a 20 FT unit for considerably less than double the price. That makes it the most cost-effective format per square foot in the catalog.

It is also the size where specialty configurations matter most. Tunnel containers with doors at both ends allow drive-through loading. Open-side units give almost forty feet of unobstructed side access. High cube reefers provide substantial cold storage capacity. Open-top units take oversized loads that will not go through a door.

Is delivery harder for a 40 FT container?

It requires more space. The delivery vehicle needs a long straight approach, room to manoeuvre and clear overhead space. Tight residential streets and sloping driveways are the usual problems. Confirm access before ordering.

Is a 40 FT unit better value than two 20 FT units?

Per square foot, almost always yes. Two 20 FT units are more flexible if you need storage in two locations, or if your site cannot take a forty-foot delivery.
