About high cube containers

A high cube container is the same footprint as a standard unit but around a foot taller. On a 20 or 40 foot box that takes external height from eight feet six inches to nine feet six, and internal height from roughly seven feet ten inches to eight feet ten. It does not sound like much until you try to fit racking, a pallet of stacked goods, or a person working comfortably inside.

High cubes carry a modest price premium and are worth it in almost every case where the interior will be used rather than simply filled. The exceptions are sites with a height restriction, and situations where the container must sit under a canopy or beneath cables.
