- How to contact us
1. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated automatically when you use the website, and information supplied by service providers acting on our behalf. We aim to collect only what is needed to sell, deliver and support the products in our catalogue.
- Information you provide: name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number, order details and any content you include in a message to us.
- Information collected automatically: pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from network information, device and browser type, and interaction with site features such as search and filtering.
- Information from service providers: order and payment status from payment processors, delivery status from carriers, and aggregated analytics reporting.
2. Account information
If you create an account, we store the details you enter so that you can view order history, track deliveries and complete future purchases more quickly. You choose your own password, which is stored in hashed form and is not visible to us. You can update or request deletion of your account information at any time using the contact details at the end of this policy.
You are not required to create an account in order to place an order.
3. Checkout and order information
To process an order we need your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and telephone number. Delivery of a container requires a contact telephone number because carriers arrange placement directly with the recipient.
We retain order records including the products purchased, the price paid, the delivery method selected and the delivery outcome. This information supports order fulfilment, customer support, returns, warranty assessment, accounting and tax obligations.
4. Contact forms and enquiries
Information submitted through contact forms, including any files or photographs attached to a support or warranty enquiry, is used to respond to that enquiry and to keep a record of the correspondence. Please do not include payment card details, identification documents or other sensitive information in a form submission.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: maintaining your session, remembering the contents of your cart, and enabling secure checkout. The website cannot function without these.
- Preference: remembering choices such as list or grid layout, sort order and any filters you have applied.
- Analytics: understanding which pages are used and where visitors encounter difficulty, in aggregate.
- Advertising: where enabled, measuring the effectiveness of marketing and limiting repeat display of the same message.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent checkout from working.
6. Analytics
We use analytics services to understand aggregate site usage, such as which products are viewed most often and where visitors leave the checkout process. Analytics reporting is used to improve the website. Where the analytics provider supports it, IP addresses are truncated or anonymised.
7. Advertising
Where advertising services are used, they may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure whether a visit resulted in a purchase and to control how often an advertisement is shown. We do not sell personal information to advertisers. Details of any specific advertising platforms in use will be listed here before launch. [EDITABLE ADVERTISING PLATFORM LIST]
8. Payment processing
Payments are handled by third party payment processors. Card details are entered directly into the processor’s secure environment. Container Flex Depot does not receive, store or have access to full payment card numbers. We receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded, the amount, the currency and a reference for reconciliation.
The specific payment providers connected to this website will be listed here once the integration is finalised. [EDITABLE PAYMENT PROCESSOR LIST]
9. Third party services
We share the minimum information necessary with providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting, payment processing, delivery and carriage, email delivery, analytics and customer support tooling. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform their service for us.
10. How information is used
- To process, fulfil and deliver orders.
- To communicate about an order, including confirmation, dispatch and delivery coordination.
- To provide customer support and to handle returns and warranty claims.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To detect and prevent fraud and misuse.
- To meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
- Where you have chosen to receive them, to send marketing communications.
11. Communications and marketing
Transactional messages relating to an order are sent because they are necessary to complete the sale, and cannot be opted out of while an order is active. Marketing emails are sent only where you have opted in, and every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not affect order-related messages.
12. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information. Information is disclosed only in the following circumstances: to the service providers described above; to a carrier in order to deliver your order; where required by law, court order or a properly constituted request from a public authority; to establish or defend legal claims; and, in the event of a business sale or reorganisation, to the acquiring party subject to equivalent protection.
13. Security
We apply administrative, technical and physical measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted connections for pages that transmit personal information, access controls limiting who within the business can view order records, and reliance on established payment providers so that card data never reaches our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Data retention
Order records are retained for as long as required for warranty, returns, accounting and tax purposes. Account information is retained while the account remains open. Enquiry correspondence is retained for a reasonable period after the matter is closed. Analytics data is retained in aggregate. Specific retention periods will be confirmed here following legal review. [EDITABLE RETENTION PERIODS]
15. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to have inaccurate information corrected; to request deletion; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; to receive your information in a portable format; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
16. Children’s privacy
This website is intended for business and adult consumer purchasers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
17. International transfers
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by the provider. Details will be confirmed here following legal review. [EDITABLE TRANSFER SAFEGUARDS]
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, our practices, or legal requirements. The revision date at the top of this page will be updated when we do. Material changes will be communicated more prominently.
